Thank you for being so considerate and patient with us and for creating a documentary we can all be proud of.
Christian Tumble is a decent and trustworthy documentary maker who is true to his word. Incredibly, so many people of different parties and political persuasions are happy how they have been portrayed – now that’s an achievement.
Despite being principally about my cognitive disorder I was pleasantly surprised and more than content with the way my plight was portrayed. If it helps others come to terms with what is a serious problem, then the overall effort will have been very worthwhile.
I worked with Christian and his crew for over a year. They captured all the significant moments in what was a very high pressure and stressful environment. The finished documentary accurately told the story and brought the emotion and atmosphere of the whole experience to life.
I was apprehensive about taking part in the programme. I harboured concerns that the footage would be exploited. However, Christian remained true to his word, he portrayed the evidence as it unfolded. I know I have at least one person in the media world I trust.
You very cleverly succeeded in capturing a slice of Sunseeker life. The programme has been extremely well received by the whole Sunseeker family.
At first I was reluctant to be on camera, but Christian asked me to trust him and he made a great documentary that really helped Richard. When it was shown, I was overwhelmed by the positive response I got from people all over the country and around the world.
Nothing is designed to make a politician more nervous than having a camera following! But Christian quickly reassured me and was constructive while being unobtrusive. What might have been an arduous few months turned out to be a great experience and that is down to Christian and his professionalism and good humour. It’s nice to know I’ve got a new friend.
Deciding to take part in a documentary can be a complicated decision. For me it’s all about trust. Trust that you will be represented fairly and accurately and trust that filming wont disrupt what you do.
Filming should be fun and my aim is always to develop a clear and honest working relationship. It’s about creating a collaboration that allows a free flow of conversation and ideas, where questions or concerns can easily be expressed and addressed.
Being in a documentary can bring many advantages. It can open doors and create exciting opportunities and will massively raises the profiles of people and their passions. Ultimately it should be a rewarding experience that creates a unique record of a moment in time.
